I worked as a therapist in Franklin, Tennessee before retiring in 2011. I have written several books, some of which you can find on my website, and have led conferences on family issues throughout the United States. Cecelia and I were married in 1969 and have two children and four grandchildren.
I have a deep interest in family matters and want to be helpful to you and others through my books and blogs concerning things essential to healthy relationships. I am particularly interested in how our relationship to God forms the foundation of healthy relationships with our self and others. It is my strong belief that our character is the greatest strength or weakness we bring to marriage, parenting and other relationships. And, it is my conviction that a personal commitment to Christ and a daily walk in faith are essential to the development of Christian character. Thus, we teach our children and relate to others more through who we are than what we say. Character really matters.
I have four post-graduate degrees and many years of experience in working with individuals, families and children. However, beyond all the education and experience, what I trust most to guide me are biblical principles and the guidance of God’s Spirit within me.
So, I’ve told you up front where I come from on family matters. I hope you will take time to read some of my blogs and see how much “common sense” they make to you.
If you want to contact me about speaking to your group about parenting or other family matters you can begin the conversation by contacting me by using the contact tab or by leaving a comment after one of my blogs in the message area.
Thank you for allowing me to serve you, Cos Davis.
